Email stuff

I have fetchmail routing through procmail to $HOME$/Mail/inbox. I then use Kmail to read my email. It does not transfer the mail or anything of the sort. It is just in the folder. The problem I am having is if I delete the mail it still remains in $HOME/Mail/inbox. Kmail does not have any problem with this but my monitoring program will still say I have email. It is like Kmail does not edit the file but keeps a memory version or something. Any advice or another HTML able graphical interface program that does not do this would be greatly appreciated.
