|
|
I've tried deselecting biber and then running depclean, but aparently lingua-translit (a dependency of biber) is soft blocking the installation of schily-tools (a dependency of cdr-tools which is used for virt-manager.)
I have set a use flag for cdr-tools to require schily tools, because portage told me that was required, but then I got this error which I am unable to solve.
The relevant code:
Code: |
[blocks B ] dev-perl/Lingua-Translit ("dev-perl/Lingua-Translit" is soft blocking app-shells/schily-tools-2021.09.18)
Error: The above package list contains packages which cannot be
installed at the same time on the same system.
(dev-perl/Lingua-Translit-0.280.0-r1:0/0::gentoo, ebuild scheduled for merge) pulled in by >=dev-perl/Lingua-Translit-0.280 required by (dev-tex/biber-2.16:0/0::gentoo, ebuild scheduled for merge) USE="-test" ABI_X86="(64)"
(app-shells/schily-tools-2021.09.18:0/0::mv, ebuild scheduled for merge) pulled in by app-shells/schily-tools[schilytools_cdrtools] required by (app-cdr/cdrtools-99999999:0/0::mv, ebuild scheduled for merge) USE="schily-tools" ABI_X86="(64)"
For more information about Blocked Packages, please refer to the following section of the Gentoo Linux x86 Handbook (architecture is irrelevant):

You seem to be using cdrtools from an overlay. The version in ::gentoo does not have such a dependency or blocker:
Quote: |
(app-shells/schily-tools-2021.09.18:0/0::mv, ebuild scheduled for merge) pulled in by app-shells/schily-tools[schilytools_cdrtools] required by (app-cdr/cdrtools-99999999:0/0::mv, ebuild scheduled for merge) USE="schily-tools" ABI_X86="(64)"
|
This would therefore fall under "unsupported software". |

Ah okay, is there a way to force use ::gentoo? |

Moved from Portage & Programming to Unsupported Software.
If you're only trying to use a a small number of programs from the overlay, you could unmask only those programs.
If you're using a lot of programs from the overlay, then you could mask problem packages as you encounter them.
I feel like I'm forgetting an option, but either of those should work as a starting point. _________________ Quis separabit? Quo animo? |

OP: why are you using this overlay at all? If you do not need it, then disable it, and the packages in it will cease to matter to your problem. |
