|
|
Some senders use colorful Unicode icons in their subjects. In the mail header view of Evolution this looks fine (the area above the mail preview). But in the mail list, those icons are that big, that only a small part of the icon is visible. Why are those characters scaling that bad in the mailing list but not in the header area?
However this might not be an Evolution issue but rather a distribution or fontset issue...

It's solved in the upstream ticket.
Code: | # eselect fontconfig enable 8
# eselect fontconfig list |grep scale
[8] 10-scale-bitmap-fonts.conf *
# find /etc/fonts -name "*scale*"
/etc/fonts/conf.d/10-scale-bitmap-fonts.conf
/etc/fonts/conf.avail/10-scale-bitmap-fonts.conf |
Btw. what is the recommended setup for fontconfig?
Code: | eselect fontconfig list |grep "*$"
[8] 10-scale-bitmap-fonts.conf *
[24] 42-luxi-mono.conf *
[25] 45-generic.conf *
[36] 60-generic.conf * |
Since these packages are not available anymore, I'm a bit lost:
media-libs/fontconfig-ultimate
media-libs/fontconfig-infinality
infinality-ultimate-meta
