I posted this in the networking forum, but didn't get any answers so I tried some different ideas and it still doesn't work, so here I go again. I'm running a gcc3.2 system and I had Mozilla 1.1 installed, but one day it stopped working. It would just immediately turn into a zombie process. So, I unmerged it and merged Mozilla 1.0 as well as Galeon. Mozilla still did the same thing, but Galeon worked fine. I then tried remerging Mozilla with lower optimizations, but that didn't do anything. I tried compiling the Sun jdk from scratch, but I couldn't get it to compile. Finally, I unmerged all the jdk's and Mozilla and downloaded the binaries for 1.2 from mozilla.org. This also did the same thing.
Then I remembered that I had recompiled libpng with gcc3, so I recompiled all sorts of libraries (gtk, gdk_pixbuf, and imlib). Now, it will run when I'm logged in as root, but won't run anyway else. |
