I get locks as well with all the 2.6.3_rc's. I've isolated it to heavy disk i/o. It's not SATA realted because the drive in use is PATA. I hope this gets resolved in the 2.6.3 finals because its got me stumped. |
I haven't had any problems with this on my Box running love-sources. I have had it happen with another gentoo box running gentoo-sources 2.4.22.
Heavy disk i/o and X, dhcp and possibly others crash.
So it may not be a love-sources problem (or I could be getting something completely different). The major difference between the boxes is the 2.4 box is running older hardware. |

Just to remind everyone: we have an irc channel on freenode. It's #love-sources. If you have questions that are taking time to answer here, vist us there for a quicker solution. I'm almost always there and so are some others who could help you. _________________ Rationality is the recognition of the fact that nothing can alter the truth and nothing can take precedence over that act of perceiving it. |

And media-gfx/bootsplash-0.6-r6 contain bootsplash-3.1.3-2.6.3.patch.bz2...may be it should be included in love-sources instead of 3.1.3-2.6.0-test9 ? |
Do you have a link for the new bootsplash? I checked around and can't find one. _________________ Rationality is the recognition of the fact that nothing can alter the truth and nothing can take precedence over that act of perceiving it. |

Does it need the bd_claim patch? If it does, then I see no reason why it shouldn't be included in love. _________________ Rationality is the recognition of the fact that nothing can alter the truth and nothing can take precedence over that act of perceiving it. |

Cool, I'll add the rest of the patches as well in case someone needs them. _________________ Rationality is the recognition of the fact that nothing can alter the truth and nothing can take precedence over that act of perceiving it. |

Do you think that you could email me the patch? I don't use bootsplash on this machine and don't really feel like emerging it just t ograb a single file. My email address is jpcox at iastate dot edu. _________________ Rationality is the recognition of the fact that nothing can alter the truth and nothing can take precedence over that act of perceiving it. |
