I've got a pretty new tuxedo laptop that I successfully put gentoo on a couple of months ago. The issue I have now is the latest upgrade to gentoo-sources 5.15.11 has the problem that when gnome starts up the mouse pointer is not present.
I believe I am using wayland, which I am not used to, on my previous gentoo system I used X. Also I am using genkernel, which I am also not used to as I used to manually compile. I use genkernel, as with a custom kernel I couldn't get the trackpad working, either no pointer or no two finger scroll, but genkernel seemed to do the trick. Until now. Also, genkernel is useful for an initrd that supports LUKS.
In 5.10.76-gentoo-r1-x86_64 I see in dmesg | grep -i elan

Any idea how I can get the trackpad working with 5.15.11? |

Possibly relevant reddit post here (TL:DR: check CONFIG_I2C_HID_ACPI is enabled?) |
