|

I have reinstalled the system twice because of this bug.
When I put kvantum and change the systemsettings5 theme it never opens. In the terminal it does not show any error and it is impossible for me to configure plasma, as it does not open. |

What versions are involved?

This rarely achieves anything in such cases.

Please explain

What is "it"? You describe you change the Plasma theme in systemsettings so I assume you were able to do it at least once? |

Yes, it is when I change the plasma theme, close kde preferences, and it never opens again. |

So, it is clear your user profile is affected, not the system; re-installing does nothing.
If you change to something else than kvantum theme, and systemsettings works fine, then it is clear there is a bug in kvantum.

hello, thank you for answering my message
I have tried to delete kvantum delete ~/.config and ~/.cache and reboot. Then systemsettings opens, but when I change any theme the same thing happens again.
My user I did it with:
useradd --create-home --groups users,wheel,video,audio,lp,lpadmin,cdrom,cdrw,kvm,plugdev --shell /bin/bash --commint "Juan Pedro" juanpe
I'm going to create a new user from KDE application to see if the same thing happens to me. |

Hello, I just discovered the error
Gentoo comes with kde with administrator permissions to make any changes in kde desktop.
Just in the gentoo kde wiki section:Non-root user authentication for dialog
Removing the root account to administrator user solves the error. |

Could you describe the solution in detail? What steps would someone take to execute your solution? |

Create : /etc/polkit-1/rules.d/49-wheel.rules
Code: | polkit.addAdminRule(function(action, subject) {
return ["unix-group:wheel"];
}); |
Edit: the error returned

It's just a warning and not related to your problem.
