My twm works well with startx. But I wanted graphic login, so I emerged sddm and followed Gentoo instructions. The only problem is that the login screen stays after login and everything else is not ereased, leaving a cluttered background screen. The .xsession_errors file says Quote: | Error: Can't open display: :0 | I have created an .xsession file Code: | xclock -update 1 -geometry 164x164-0-0 &
xosview -geometry -6+0 +net &
xterm -geometry +504-0 -e mc &
xsm
twm
| xsm lets me get out of the twm session and shut down the machine if need be.
What should I adjust to make sure background is always clear?

You could use xsetbg (media-gfx/xloadimage) or xsetroot (x11-apps/xsetroot) to simply load an image or clear the background. _________________ Intel Core i7 2700K/Radeon R7 250/24GB DDR3/256GB SSD
