I see that the qt overlay has 6.22 versions, so I have a question.
Does qt6 install beside qt5? Any concerns?
It appears that qtbase w/USE flags replaces qtcore/qtgui/qt<whatever> separate ebuilds, is this correct?
Note: I don't run kde so that's not a concern for me, just some assorted qt apps. _________________ PRIME x570-pro, 3700x, 6.1 zen kernel

They should be fine with each other, yes, but perhaps one of the most concerning things at this time is automagic in packages such as CMake, which will build its GUI thingy against Qt 6 instead of 5 if it can find it (for what it is worth, it does seem to work, but I never actually use it outside of launching it once).

Yeah, at least for the time being, we're not going to split the packages as they are in Qt 5 simply because it's more work, and there's no one around to really put that work into it.
Some of the flags might not work right, if at all, and there's a bunch of automagic lurking for sure. Very initial work to be sure, hence the hard mask on it. :]
So far I've built qTox and the Otter browser with it (after first porting them over, though they too do still require a lot of work to be upstreamable). _________________ Kindest of regardses. |

Thanks, been looking at playing with it, but didn't want to mess up qt5 and the few apps that only work with it.
I'm interested in qtwebengine, since they've finally moved to 6.22.
I'll keep the cmake problem in mind. _________________ PRIME x570-pro, 3700x, 6.1 zen kernel
