This use to work - now it doesn't. Have I updated some dependency and broken it?
Can anyone enlighten me with a solution?

Is your system up to date?
Does Code: | emerge -av @preserved-rebuild | want to rebuild anything?
It has a lot of dependencies so
if you've done an update recently you may need to re-emerge. _________________ Donate to Gentoo |

Yikes - I've neglected this.
To answer the question - yes, everything was updated and all dependencies rebuilt.
This was an ongoing problem through several world updates.
Part of my problem was that I was downloading the ebuild for megasync and putting that in my local overlay. As opposed to using layman to add an entire overlay. I didn't way to add a full overlay as I didn't want the additional packages that would bring with it. However I figured out a solution.
How I solved it was:
Added the overlay 4anykey which has megasync in it.
Then in package.mask added:
To mask everything in the overlay.
Then to package.unmask added:
Code: | net-misc/megasync
net-misc/meganz-sdk
dev-libs/breakpad |
to install the packages required for megasync.
Everything is working fine now. |
