|
|
The https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Portage_Security wiki page says:

The gentoo git mirror is a git repo that delivers the equivalent of the rsync method
|
Since rsync is slow for me even with some local mirrors, I want to try the git mirrors.
The official one https://gitweb.gentoo.org/repo/sync/gentoo.git/ is still slow for me, and I can't find info about mirrors of the official one any where in the gentoo wiki.
Where are they? |

If want speed I'd just use github
https://github.com/gentoo-mirror/gentoo.git
The above includes news and metadata like the /sync/ anongit, it's intended for this.
Reminder that when changing url in repos.conf for git, you need to either delete the current repos or edit its .git/config |
