|
|
Since that is in section 7 according to Debian manpages, I tried to locate the corresponding package with
Code: |
e-file X
e-file X.7.bz2
|
however nothing appropriate was found.
Thanks for any help.

Hi qsmodo,
Did you emerge xorg-server with USE flag doc? _________________ A wife asks her husband, a programmer:

He comes back with 6 cartons of milk.
- Why did you buy 6 cartons of milk?
- They had eggs. |

Oh, of course, this must be it, I haven't. I'll mark it as solved but probably I will live without it since I surely don't want to undergo hours of compilation.
Yet, any idea why e-file doesn't locate it? |

Hello.
Looks like, the e-file utility does search for package names, not file names!
If searching for man file on your system, rather try with commands like locate or find.
File is in /usr/share/man/man7 on Debian
Edit: Note, I might be wrong since I looked online version (not running any Gentoo sys anymore)

A long version: I wasn't aware about the existence of e-file command before reading this topic... I searched in the web, found resuts about the system of submitting tax documents to the US Internal Revenue Service and thought that evidently that's not it... And after that finally found a mention of e-file in https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Gentoo_Cheat_Sheet...
A short version: where is the e-file manual page?

LOL it's nowhere to be found either! And there are no doc USE flags for this one. |

Other programs that don't provide manual pages are QEMU and zathura.
Building them requires a lot of additional dependencies. |
