Hello everyone,
I noticed that the ~ version of media-libs/mesa is 21.2.2 while mesa 21.2.4 has been out for a a short while already. Is it known whether 21.2.4 will be in the portage anytime soon or should I create a temporary overlay?
The reason that I'm asking, is that I need at least mesa 21.2.3 due to a very specific bug with the intel_iris.dri and google-chrome that I'm experiencing and I'm hoping that the entry "Possible miscompilation of an integer division with vulkan" will resolve my issue. As vulkan rendering is currently disabled for me in google-chrome.

Create a local ebuild repository and copy media-libs/mesa to your local repository. Rename mesa-21.2.2.ebuild to mesa-21.2.3.ebuild or mesa-21.2.4.ebuild - and emerge will install Mesa 21.2.3 or Mesa 21.2.4.

True, didn't even think about that. I already have a local repository for several ebuilds, so I'll just add it. Thanks for the tip! |

I don't see a version bump bug on bugs.gentoo.org for 21.2.4. I suggest you test whether 21.2.4 fixes your problem and, if so, file a bump request stating that you have a known issue in 21.2.2 that is resolved in 21.2.4. The presence of a relevant upstream fix may motivate a faster bump than might otherwise happen, especially if you can quantify how many users are likely to benefit from the fix. |

I've been running 21.2.4 for a week or so, been fine for me, fixed some niggling problems with earlier 21.2 versions. _________________ PRIME x570-pro, 3700x, 6.1 zen kernel
