What cellular hot-spot devices can work with linux using a usb tether and keeping the wifi turned off on both the linux computer and on the hot-spot device?
I am currently using a cdma cellular access usb dongle that looks like an ethernet usb device, but since sprint merged with t-mobile, that are discontinuing the cdma support by the end of this year (2021). T-mobile has a usb tetherable hot-spot device, but getting technical details from them, especially from their store personel, is unlikely.
I boot directly into gentoo linux on my laptop, and I take that laptop when I go on business trips. I refuse to connect to the hotel wifi, for obvious reasons.
Does anyone have any experience with these devices? _________________ The MyWord KJV Bible tool is at http://www.elilabs.com/~myword
