Hello, yesterday I finally got Gentoo installed with basic functionality but it seems that the suspicious problems didn't end there. Today I was copying stuff over from my old system but something weird happened when I copied over the "/usr/share/{themes,icons}" folders. I thought that maybe you weren't supposed to just copy stuff over so that's when I decided to just delete everything inside of those folders and start again from scratch but no luck.
This is the output I get when I open spacefm: https://dpaste.com/B3ZVN4KC5
In case this has anything to do with Xorg, you can find the log here: https://dpaste.com/8GH4MWPRV

What I tried:
Code: |
chmod -R 755 /usr/share/mime
sudo chmod -R uga-x /usr/share/mime
sudo chmod -R uga+X /usr/share/mime
|
This resulted in the following error messages: https://dpaste.com/EDP3B4FXX
The error message isn't 100% accurate since I'm not using the We10X-black theme and I do have the hicolor theme. |

Solution: put the folders back and run the commands found above. |

Copying system directories from an old system into a new Gentoo system will be the source of endless grief. Everything is /usr/share was the result of installation using emerge. _________________ Andy Figueroa
