emerge --depclean and symliks to lib64

hi.
For al lot of time I didn't emerge --depclean after world update and now I have so many package to depclean and I'm not sure if can I really depclean those package.

Can somebody take a look at the output of the emerge --ask --decplean command?

I thanks all a lot in advance if you confirm this.

There don't seem to be any packages that could compromise your system.

Generally if you don't recognize something and portage thinks it's okay to remove, it means you don't need it. With --depclean portage won't remove things needed by packages you have installed.

Verifying the list is mostly about things you personally use and I assume you'd know if you use something (and by this I mean things like, an editor, browser, a game, not libidontknow). In which case you may want to add it to your world file to prevent depclean.

thanks a lot to all, I launch the command and, for now, I don't find problem (only alsa-utils but I remerged and now works)

can I ask another thing that don't is not very pertinent to this thread but I don't think is good to open another one?!

Many months ago I had problem with emerge a package that I don't remember and it created some symbolic link to lib64 folder. Do you think that can I delete all those symlink? If not I don't know if those symlink are used by something or not. Can I check this?

Seems very unlikely anything is using these unless something went really strange.

If you want to check if a package own the symlink, you can run `qfile` on them (will return nothing if orphaned, alternatively qfile -o prints the file if it's orphaned), not that no ownership necessarily mean it's unused (some files aren't tracked, like things created by eselect).

When in doubt, keep a backup of the symlinks and you can always restore if there's anything not right.

If I'll try to delete a symlink one by one, there is a test that I can do immediately to check if something is broken?

I'm doing summer cleaning to my computer...

now I remember that the emerge problem was with glibc and every time I tried to compile it create a symlink
