If anyone is interested you can compile kernel 2.4.19 with the following patches:

1. This patch contains:
O(1) + Batch scheduler [note: To utilise the batch scheduling you need the setbatch.c utility which is ideal for background tasks (eg setiathome)]

Preemptible - enable this in kernel config
Low latency - enable this in kernel config [note: If you enable control with sysctl then "echo 1 > /proc/sys/kernel/lowlatency")]
Supermount
..testing...Compressed caching - enable this in kernel config
Rik Van Riel's rmap optional
You can get this here: http://members.optusnet.com.au/ckolivas/kernel/rmapck7_2.4.19.patch.bz2

2. acpi patch:
you can get it here: http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=36832

3. This patch will stop the segfault in the kernel at boot however you might have to patch 1 or 2 files manually (just a few lines): http://www.brodo.de/english/pub/acpi/pci_irq/pciirq.27.acpi24.diff

4. The speedstep patch: ftp://ftp.linux.org.uk/pub/linux/cpufreq/

They all work together. If anyone can do some latency and other test please post them.
