|

Hi,
Firefox has this issue that it won't show me a full list of available microphones, only the first one which is hw:0,0, i googled this and it's a known issue with browsers.
The question is, how do i set the intel card as the default input device instead of the HDMI one.
I use hdmi as headphones while using the mic as input on the other card but for some reason it will still show the hdmi card on the inputs in pulseaudio even tho the profile and everything is set to output only.
So far the only solution i found was to disable full duplex in about:config but i'm not sure it's a good solution since it's kinda a hack and probably does some latency lagging.

Yes, install pulseaudio, recompile firefox with Pulse.
On sound cards with higher frequency Firefox does not play nice with ALSA.
Unless you drop to 48K. Will solve issues with mic on firefox too.
In fact Firefox DOES NOT support pulseaudio. They literally dropped support for ALSA. _________________ Just a user. |

It was my understanding that they deprecated ALSA support and said everyone must use PulseAudio. Therefore, it seems rather strange to say it does not support pulseaudio. What does it support, then? |

Sorry, I meant to say "DOES NOT support ALSA". It may or may not work depending on your .asoundrc settings, but if you report issues with Firefox/ALSA - they will tell you to use pulse. Also, I personally could not make mic work in ALSA for years.
Everything works fine with pulseaudio though, as much i hate pulseaudio. _________________ Just a user. |
