I'm configuring my plasma setup and I'm in trouble setting the correct keyboard. In the terminal I do have an "azerty" keyboard and this works perfectly. Once I enter plasma I have a "qwerty" keyboard.

I tried setting it to "belgian" in the system settings. This looks like the best match. But when I apply the settings and leave the setting application, I always end up with a "qwerty" keyboard.

Ok, got it working.

Went to /usr/share/sddm/scripts/Xsetup and added "setxkbmap "be" " AND likewise added /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/10-keyboard.conf with "Option "XkbLayout" "be" ". Seems to work for the regular user.

Generally, files under /usr/share are not protected, so your next emerge of sddm will likely overwrite that change. If the change is necessary, consider adding a Portage user patch to automatically reapply the change on upgrade/rebuild. Alternatively, try to find a way to fix this while changing only files in /etc and $HOME.
