|

So my filesystem is kaput and I am following this page: https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Fix_My_Gentoo to try and fix things. Problem is I am getting stuck at just mounting my broken system.
When run Code: | mount /dev/nvme01n1p4 /mnt/gentoo | I just get an error that says Code: | mount:/mount/gento: special device /dev/nvme01n1p4 does not exist |
Some pictures of fstab on broken system and fdisk -l output: https://imgur.com/a/kflVTix
How do I mount my broken system? It's in a state that I could boot but everything was read only. Why does it think /dev/nvme01n1p4 doesn't exist?
Edit: Nevermind I spelt it wrong >_<. It mounts now. |

Indi008,
What broke?
Fix_My_Gentoo will work for almost anything.
Depending on what happened, there may well be some shortcuts that are not documented there. _________________ Regards,

Are you sure that is not a typo:
mount /dev/nvme01n1p4 /mnt/gentoo
Every m.2 drive I have used has been labled:
/dev/nvme0n1. So your mount would be:
mount /dev/nvme0n1p4 /mnt/gentoo |

In the future do "cat /etc/fstab| wgetpaste" or "cat /etc/fstab |pastebinit" instead of imygur. Those commands will create a temporary web link wherein the text can be read or copied in a browser. This is easier to read than a picture.
Example result: https://dpaste.com/EXBMYRSWG
I leave it to the redoubtable NeddySeagoon to expound farther and give advice on which to use.
Actually, "wgetpaste /etc/fstab" suffices. I'm used to running programs i.e. "dmesg | wgetpaste" |
