In lightdm do not start plasma wayland but rather plasma xorg
Code:

Qt: Session management error: Could not open network socket

Maybe relevant.
From Archwiki
Code:

From the console
To start Plasma with xinit/startx, append export DESKTOP_SESSION=plasma and exec startplasma-x11 to your .xinitrc file. If you want to start Xorg at login, please see Start X at login.
To start a Plasma on Wayland session from a console, run XDG_SESSION_TYPE=wayland dbus-run-session startplasma-wayland.[1]

Does it start with startx?

I just tried it, but the result is the same as before, the screen is black, only the mouse can move

If i3 was not working I would think about kernel lacking config.
But you mentioned that i3 starts.
Since this is a Virtualbox vm please check this kernel config
in
https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/VirtualBox
Also
Quote:
VIDEO_CARDS="amdgpu fbdev intel nouveau radeon radeonsi vesa dummy v4l"

You do NOT need all these.
Just "vmware".
and rebuild @world
Do you use an initrd?
Plz post your kernel .config
and
Code:

rc-service elogind status

there is a initramfs in /boot,
isn't that article just about how to install virtualbox on gentoo?
this is my .config in /usr/src/linux https://paste.ubuntu.com/p/X5fQFFc54s/

Gentoo guests
Kernel configuration
When running Gentoo as a guest system, enable the following kernel options on the guest system (either built-in or as modules) to get proper support for the hardware emulated by VirtualBox:

KERNEL Support for VirtualBox hardware
Bus options (PCI etc.) --->
[*] Mark VGA/VBE/EFI FB as generic system framebuffer
Device Drivers --->
<*> Serial ATA and Parallel ATA drivers (libata) --->
[*] AHCI SATA support
[*] ATA SFF support (for legacy IDE and PATA)
[*] ATA BMDMA support
[*] Intel ESB, ICH, PIIX3, PIIX4 PATA/SATA support
<*> Network device support --->
<*> Ethernet driver support --->
[*] Intel devices
[*] Intel(R) PRO/1000 Gigabit Ethernet support
Input device support --->
<*> Keyboards --->
[*] AT keyboard
<*> Mice --->
[*] PS/2 mouse
<*> Virtio drivers --->
<*> PCI driver for virtio devices
Graphics support --->
<*> Direct Rendering Manager (XFree86 4.1.0 and higher DRI support) --->
[*] Enable legacy fbdev support for your modesetting driver
<*> DRM driver for VMware Virtual GPU
<*> Enable framebuffer console under vmwgfx by default
Frame buffer Devices --->
<*> Support for frame buffer devices --->
[*] Enable Firmware EDID
[*] Simple framebuffer support
<*> Console display driver support --->
[*] Framebuffer Console support
[*] Map the console to the primary display device
<*> Sound card support --->
<*> Advanced Linux Sound Architecture --->
<*> PCI sound devices --->
[*] Intel/SiS/nVidia/AMD/ALi AC97 Controller
<*> USB support --->
[*] xHCI HCD (USB 3.0) support
[*] EHCI HCD (USB 2.0) support

from the Wiki about vbox.
You are missing config
Code:

# CONFIG_DRM_VMWGFX is not set
# CONFIG_DRM_LOAD_EDID_FIRMWARE is not set

and possibly many more..
Just use gentoo-kernel-bin and an initrd and hope for the best.
