Hello everybody

after a lot of time on which I stay without give an update now I've update all the system from kernel to the xorg ... and nvidia drivers ...
the real reason that move me to make that is what's happened before ... after reboot X does not start ... lightdm looks died ... so I try to move to xdm just for having access to my i3 environment but than :
1) i3 does not start ... (I notice that nvidia-drivers was old respect portage tree availability ) so I have updated them ...
2) I move from lightdm (try to recompile before) to xdm in /etc/conf.d/xdm but xdm start but after login a simple xterm and simple x environment appears

after complete system's upgrade the things does not change ... I recompile lightdm .. put it in /etc/conf.d/xdm but still xdm appears after boot ... what can it be ? what I've done wrongly ? I remember that I also recompile xdm ... well i3 does not start ... I'm going crazy ... does somebody help me with that ?

Thanks
Marco
