Today I had my first kernel update.
5.11.10-gentoo > 5.11.11-gentoo.
But I forgot to do before running .
So it's started compiling the kernel all over again...
I just stopped it by issuing ctrl+c.
Is that ok?
Also, to remove the old kernel I just unmerged the previous sources and deleted the old kernel images manually with .
Is this the correct procedure?
I want to avoid breaking my install as much as possible as it took long to get it up and running. _________________ Intel Core i5-9400F / 24GB DDR4 2666MHz / GeForce GTX 1060 3GB

This should answer your questions for an upgrade. https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Kernel/Upgrade Just make sure your bootloader etc is updated and that you can boot into new kernel before removing anything. I also suggest keeping an extra kernel in case anything breaks with an upgrade....always nice to have a plan B if needed. _________________ Pura Vida |
