Hello everyone...
Finally I got my hands on this two SUN ultra10 computers at work, and I thought it a cool pair to cluster. Got gentoo, installed it and when I tried to emerge the openmosix-sources I find that (for not reading too much in advance) it is masking everything except ~x86.
So my question is, can I cluster this two dinosaurs using gentoo (and openmosix or similar) or should I start over with another distribution... and if so, wich, I really like gentoo, and I'm quite fond of it so I would like to keep my two sparc boxes with gentoo.
Any thoughts? hints? even a RTFM would help .
Edit: I RTFM, found out oM wont work on SPARC, any ideas of how I can keep my gentoo and still cluster the two computers? _________________ The heart has reasons that the reason will never understand.

I wonder if anyone has actually tried to apply the patch to sparc-sources to see what happens. _________________ Gentoo systems.

I am willing to try... but, on the oM site the FAQ states that no other architecture than x86 is supported. Although supported may be used as "don't come to bother if it doesn't work"
I'll read more... and try patching the sparc-sources (if I can, remember I'm a no0bie here) if I came out with somehing usable I'll share my knowledge with the community! _________________ The heart has reasons that the reason will never understand.

I was looking at the patch file at work, and got as far to see that the files patched were in i386. I didn't see if there was actual assembly patched, because I didn't get that far. I'll look at it tomorrow too. _________________ Gentoo systems.

OpenMosix won't work on the Sparc architecture. If you want to port it to the sparc architecture, i know a lot of people who will be happy.
Cheers!
