First i am french and i read better the english than i write it so be cool if my words are not well sayd...
"merci d'avance" like whe say in France...

I have a MSI KT3-Ultra-ARU and a speedtouch modem:

when i boot from livecd-basic_rc1-r2:

1) oops wiyh smart... but still booting, ( SMART is enabled on my 2 hard drives)

2) unknown ACPI config:
>> WARNING: unexpected IO-APIC, please mail
>> to linux-smp@vger.kernel.org
(but when i compile my own kernel with ACPI support all is OK)

3) usb-uhci detect my 2 usb ports v1, but
usb-ohci detect my usb v2 (Nec shipset) and configure it as a usb V1 and misconfigure all my usb ports as usb V1 OHCI.
needless to say nothing work on the usb land...
I have tried to enable only the usb v1 in bios but same result...

with USB compiled in kernel not as a module how can i change that?
i need usb to connect the net ( the speedtouch alcatel!!!) and i can't umount the cd to put and compile my own kernel, the cd don't stop on the lilo prompt for putting params... perhaps should i write them with a ball-pen on the CD??? :-)

In fact i have a cdrom and a cdr-w on this machine so i do the job but I have another pc to install elsewhere with only one cdrom and ISDN to connect the web, how can i do without putting on a hard drive partition the distfiles or booting with 1.2 iso ...?

Patrick

P.S. :
just one thing for others: after the install no /proc dir, i made it by hand.

and now a tip for the french guys:
after booting your keyboard is a us.
edit /etc/rc.conf
replace "us" by "fr-latin1"
remove the # before CONSOLETRANSLATION="8859-15_to_uni"
( needed to have our "é,è,etc...)
do a: "/etc/init.d/keymap restart"
and a: "/etc/init.d/consolefont restart"
now all must be ok...
have (better than me!!!) nice install
