I'm sorry if this is out of place. For the record i did a bit of searching before posting the question, but iether i'm looking for the wrong thing and not realizing it in search engines, or i'm just retarded... so here goes...
I was wondering if - by default - emerge takes advantage of multiple cpu's on the system. I'm pretty sure that it doesnt. Is there an easy way of making it use the appropriate make flags for my dual cpu setup?
thanks a lot guys!

Add something like:
to your /etc/make.conf for a dual CPU machine. Even the default -j2 does parallelize make commands somewhat reasonably on a dual-CPU box. |

Note that not all ebuilds will take advantage of parallel make, and it's usually for good reason, because certain files need to be made before others. _________________ For every higher wall, there is a taller ladder |
