I've got a bunch of old hard drives laying around which I'm pretty sure have been LUKS encrypted with Gentoo prior to Cryptsetup2. I've attempted to mount them in a recent version of Gentoo Live CD (which uses cryptsetup2) to no avail, I'd like to double check with older ISOs to see if it mounts correctly there (when I moved over to Ubuntu mid last year, I had similar issues with cryptsetup1/2 gentoo/ubuntu incompatabilities).

I imagine there may be other value in keeping some historic ISO+stage3 ISOs (e.g. one build every month/bi-monthly/quarterly) for regression testing etc.

Is there anywhere that logs historic Gentoo ISOs? I'm hoping to find a at least one from the 2018-2019 era.

throwaway12394,

For an historic ISO, use System Rescue CD from the days when it was Gentoo based.
I have a couple of old ones that I can host.
Code:
Dec  2  2017 downloads/systemrescuecd-x86-5.1.2.iso
Mar  3  2019 downloads/systemrescuecd-x86-5.3.2.iso

I also have
Code:
Jan  3  2018 stage3-amd64-hardened+nomultilib-20171215T184104Z.tar.bz2
still lying around.

Thanks, I appreciate the offer - looks like SysRescueCD have a good enough (for my needs) history hosted - https://sourceforge.net/projects/systemrescuecd/files/sysresccd-x86/ .

The point still remains that there's no good history of gentoo builds. While 99.9% will never need them, they might be handy for the .1% that do :)

throwaway12394,

All the ebuilds that ever were in the ::gentoo repo are online.
Finding the sources can be a challenge.
That allows everything to be recreated.

The *.iso images are not required to install gentoo. They are just tool kits to accomplish the install.
Use any tool kit you like. The embryonic Gentoo being installed comes from the stage3 tarball.

There are a few long standing forum members who keep old stuff but that is too old for you.
Someone else will be along to help out in a wee while.
