how can i get gentoo to run on a laptop with no cdrom or ethernet card. It got pcmcia but the normal cards won;t fitt in it.
anyone knows how i can do this

I don't think that's going to work....
There are a couple of things that I can think of.
1) Get an external cd-drive.
2) Make a boot floppy that can do a dial up connection ( or there may already be one).
As for your pcmcia problem, what type of pcmcia slot is it? I can't figure out how a normal card won't fit in there. Type 1 and Type 2 are both the same size as far as I know, and most ones that you can buy now are Type 2. Even if it is a Type 3 slot, which is twice as big as the other two, you can fit 2 Type 1 or Type 2 cards into it and it should work. Can you explain further?

i found out what kind of card fits in, it is pcmcia. And i had a cardbus ethernet card. Didn't know it was different.but know it now.
just buy a ethernet card i think then
