After emerging kde 3.2.0 I get the following error when I try to log in from kdm:
Code: |
There was an error setting up inter-process communications for KDE. The message returned by the system was:
Could not read network connection list.
/home/user/.DCOPserver_hostname__0
Please check that the "dcopserver" program is running!

If I start konsole from an xterm I get the following:
Code: |
DCOPClient::attachInternal. Attach failed Authentication Rejected, reason : None of the authentication protocols specified are supported and host-based authentication failed
ICE Connection rejected!
DCOPClient::attachInternal. Attach failed Authentication Rejected, reason : None of the authentication protocols specified are supported and host-based authentication failed
DCOPServer self-test failed.
ICE Connection rejected!
kdeinit: DCOPServer could not be started, aborting.

I have the same problem now when trying to log in to kde 3.1.4.
If I am root I can start the DCOPServer without a problem.
I have searched the forum and google, without finding any definitive answers. I have also deleted everything from /tmp and various ~/.ICE* ~/.mcop etc.
Anyone knows how to fix this? I really really really want to run kde 3.2. |

Ups, embarrasing. I found out that my root partition was full, and hence /tmp was not writable which caused the problem to occur. |
