An anti-hate speech law written in Berlin has been copy-pasted by authoritarian regimes from Caracas to Moscow.

We warned you!

Censorship is not a good idea.

According to that other thread, I thought Germany was the bastion of Free Speech. :)

Yeah in some places there is a different attitude for the freedom of speech ...

Yeah in some places there is a different attitude for the freedom of speech ...
Unelected bureaucrats think they can save democracy from the voters. In any other place and time it would be called a coup.

Exactly
And it is the same group that called for the war in Iraq, Libya, Syria, giving a wink and a nod to the Muslim Brotherhood to overthrow leaders throughout the region, and pushing for war with Iran. The same group that has insisted on good relations and a lack of criticism of two of the most oppressive regimes on the planet in the Saudis and China. The same group that didn't even see the downfall of the Soviet Union, let alone the 9-11 attacks. The same group that insisted on Nation Building all across the world, while our own infrastructure crumbles; witness our inner cities, airports, schools, the State of California. The genesis of this all goes back to that utter waste of oxygen, Richard Milhous Nixon, for the formation of an large unelected bureaucracy and then followed by the inept George W. Bush and a kneejerk Congress to allow the intelligence agencies to draft legislation to give themselves unchecked power.

And it wouldn't be quite so bad, yet the Fourth Estate has become a Fifth Column by becoming nothing more than a cheerleader for this Deep State.

Unfortunately the opposite is true.
From last week:

Coordinated police action
Several house searches for hate postings

The police were on Wednesday in several states in action to combat illegal hate postings on the Internet. In a total of 21 cases there were, among other things, apartment searches or interrogations. This was reported by the Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA) in Wiesbaden, which coordinated the action.
"Threats, coercion or incitement in the net are no trivial offenses," it said. Depending on the offense up to five years imprisonment threatened.
At the nationwide fifth "Day of action against hateposting" involved investigators in Hesse, Bavaria, Baden-Wuerttemberg, Berlin, Brandenburg, Bremen, North Rhine-Westphalia, the Saarland and Saxony.
...
In addition, officials encouraged users to report hate postings to the police and social network operators in appropriate cases.

Denunciation has a long tradition here ....

We are good in laws and can make a living of propagating the german work of the legislature. But today german society fears a breakdown:

Nine german citizens are coming back from northern Syria sent by Erdogan. After arrival in Germany they need constant monitoring by police because of a potential terror thread. Every Isil fighter under suspicion needs 20 officers for observation purpose.

We think when all 90 fighters are coming back from Syria then german federal police forces will be exhausted and a state of emergency is to be set up.
