Hello Gentoo people...

I have a firefox problem since last year (forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-1089284-highlight-.html)
and i found some 'bug' last week (forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-1103692-highlight-.html),
so i got an idea if i emerge -C it, and emerge again, it will work?

I believe last year was the last time firefox updated (i had version 60.something)

Now i can not emerge it, i get ever the same problem: ERROR: media-libs/libaom-1.0.0-r2::gentoo failed (compile phase)

i decidet to go with frefox-bin, but guess what, it does not import bookmarks and all other stuff. so I emerge -C it.

I ~amd64ed firefox, still no go...

I kindly ask for help to emerge firefox.

You should post build.log and your emerge --info

Hello fedeliallalinea,

so let's start with keywords, sice emergeing firefox complains about libaom and harfbuzz I have them in package.kewords, along with ff tagged as ~amd64.
Code:
# emerge firefox
Calculating dependencies... done!
>>> Verifying ebuild manifests
>>> Running pre-merge checks for dev-lang/rust-1.38.0
 * Checking for at least 9 GiB disk space at "/var/tmp/portage/dev-lang/rust-1.38.0/temp" ...                                   [ ok ]
>>> Running pre-merge checks for net-libs/nodejs-8.12.0
>>> Running pre-merge checks for www-client/firefox-70.0.1
 * Checking for at least 4 GiB disk space at "/var/tmp/portage/www-client/firefox-70.0.1/temp" ...                              [ ok ]
>>> Emerging (1 of 8) dev-lang/rust-1.38.0::gentoo
>>> Emerging (2 of 8) media-libs/libaom-1.0.0-r2::gentoo
>>> Emerging (3 of 8) net-libs/nghttp2-1.39.2::gentoo
>>> Failed to emerge media-libs/libaom-1.0.0-r2, Log file:
>>>  '/var/tmp/portage/media-libs/libaom-1.0.0-r2/temp/build.log'

now it is emergeing rust (it takes an hour, says qlop -Ht), but I expect firefox not to emerge.

Code:
# wgetpaste /var/tmp/portage/media-libs/libaom-1.0.0-r2/temp/build.log
Pasting > 25 kB often tend to fail with dpaste. Use --verbose or --debug to see the
error output from wget if it fails. Alternatively use another pastebin service.
Apparently nothing was received. Perhaps the connection failed. Enable --verbose or
--debug to get the output from wget that can help diagnose it correctly.

What are other 'pastebin' commands please?

in mean time, emerge --info:
Code:
# emerge --info

You can use without login.
You can also search keyword 'error:' in build.log and post some lines before/after that.

Hello fedeliallalinea,

ok, so this first:
Code:
# emerge -pqv '=media-libs/libaom-1.0.0-r2::gentoo'
[ebuild  N    ] media-libs/libaom-1.0.0-r2  USE="-doc -examples" ABI_X86="32 (64) (-x32)" CPU_FLAGS_X86="mmx sse sse2 -avx -avx2 -sse3 -sse4_1 -ssse3"

and build log: https://vodjatropa.si/gentoo/build.log

I can post more stuff if needed, just please point me in that direction

Thank you
