I compiled and installed kernel version 4.19.72 on an iMac G4 (USB 2.0). It has Nvidia cards.
I’ve ironed out most of the issues, but for some reason yaboot hangs on “Boot Linux via __start()” and a strange black bar forms at the top of the screen, and it just stops there. I thought it was a video issue or some console frame buffer thing, but I’ve compiled with nouveau and Nvidia frame buffer support. I’ve also tried the “video=ofonly” in Yaboot.conf, but the same thing happens. Although, I’m not sure it is a video issue; the video issues could just be a symptom. Does anyone have any experience or advice regarding this? Thanks.

Perhaps post some of your configs on pastbin ?
Did you cross compile or use a live DVD?
