Hi,
I'm using sometimes external USB Card (the Jabra Speak device) in my gentoo. It worked well earlier but after one emerge @world and kernel upgrade it stops working and I cannot find the reason.
What I know:
- The USB Sound Card works well if it is pluged in to the USB port during the system boot
- If I unplug the USB Sound Card and plug it againt then it is not visible in my pulse audio Volume control panel
In that case the device is not reported by if I run it as regular (non root) user but if I run this command as root then the USB sound card is reported
The device works well too if I put my regular user to the audio group, but it is not recommended by the gentoo wiki Pulseaudio page. So currently my regular user is not member of this group (and it was not the member of this group earlier when it worked well).
The Code: | getfacl /dev/snd/controlC2 | command prints
Code: |
getfacl: Removing leading '/' from absolute path names
# file: dev/snd/controlC2
# owner: root
# group: audio
user::rw-
group::rw-
mask::rw-
other::---

I'm using
- Linux version 4.19.66-gentoo
- XFCE 4.12-r1
- OpenRC
- consolekit-1.2.1 with useflags: acl pam pm-utils policykit udev
- alsa-plugins-1.1.8 with usflags: ffmpeg mix pulseaudio usb_stream
- pulseaudio-12.2-r2 with useflats: X alsa alsa-plugin asyncns bluetooth caps dbus equalizer gdbm glib orc qt5 ssl tcpd udev webrtc-aec
Do you have an idea what I want to check or fix to be able to use my USB sound card without restarting computer? |
