Hello

I've been trying to get music notation programs to work.
My problem is:
When starting timidity in CLI or on the default runlevel, pulseaudio ceases to output sound.
So far I worked around this issue by using scripts that load/unload snd_seq and start/kill Timidity, but I wondered if anyone had the same problem, and if so, has a solution for this.

Many thanks in advance

I think it is normal than timidity monopolize the ALSA sound. A way to work around this is to use timidity's JACK output. I think the best alternative for JACK (media-sound/jack-audio-connection-kit) to work well with pulseaudio is to use jack-dbus. Another alternative is to use fluidsynth, which have a native pulseaudio output.
