I wonder if this is the right subforum... It's somewhat security oriented. Mods will move this as they please?

Recently Firefox learnt a better, built-in, skill - Content blocking.
I've been using Privacy Badger extension, which learns to recognize the tracker domains.
Now that there's two pieces doing pretty much the same, which one should I use?
Does anyone know how good is the built-in content blocking on Firefox?

Which do you use? I'd like to post this as a poll, but seems like it's not allowed on this subforum. :|

The built in one works quite well.

Try the "Developer Edition", it's more of a Beta now than a Nightly. You can take a look at all the requests. The standard options are doing quite well nowadays. Just grab the binary from Mozilla and give it a spin and take a look in the web developer tools.

I rather use the ones from portage.

Privacy Badger is quite easy to configure, as you can simply enable/disable a host just by clicking the extension icon to pop-up the list of domains affecting the currently open site.

Although with Firefox built-in I guess fewer sites break and it is maybe even more automatic, but not as effortless to customize... maybe.

"Be seeing you!"

I use the built in strict list and uMatrix. Privacy Badger has a well-documented backdoor to circumvent its blocking - the EFF doesn't like to upset its corporate friends.

Good to know. :)

I'll think I'll remove Privacy Badger and try to trust Mozilla more.
