Hi I was wondering why there is no desktop/xfce4/systemd profile?
It is not that I have anything against Gnome--I love gnome but its too freaking slow to compile.
Especially this webkit-gtk.
Its kind of annoying having something you dont really need take more compilation time than the kernel.
How to disable gnome and use just xfce and systemd?
Can I mask this webkit-gtk?
I wish I never have to deal with an update of this package
Thanks a lot |

You can't mask it most likely, there are many dependencies that use webkit-gtk in Gnome, though you could try:
1. See what depends on it first, can you live without them. equery depends webkit-gtk
2. Go ahead and mask it as a first step, it will probably prevent emerge from completing.
3. Try USE=-extras -gnome-online-account, try reemerge --newuse @world, and see what it does. This will get rid remove epiphany as a dependency along with a bunch of other Gnome tools. Don't know what damage this will cause.
A lot of tools that depend on parsing HTML end up requiring webkit-gtk ... _________________ Intel Core i7 2700K/Radeon R7 250/24GB DDR3/256GB SSD
