why don't you make free e-mail service @gentoo.org, but only for gentoo users.

I'd really like to have @gentoo.org e-mail address.

I was thinking that you may check the user which wants to create @gentoo.org e-mail adress with few random questions about gentoo, history of gentoo, linux, unix, bash, linux kenrel, filesystems, etc (but don't go far with bash expertise or c programming please).

To make it even easier, you may post few random questions which have 3-5 possible answers, so the user should choose only one which he/she thinks it's correct.

Other way around is to be member at forums.gentoo.org for at least 3 months.

Other way are reversed questions: the user fills a form of questions about what he/she think about linux, gentoo and why he would like @gentoo.org e-mail address, so after filling/applying the user should wait for positive answer from moderator or administrator.

Other ways are by making donations to gentoo, or buying a gentoo cd or t-shirt etc.

Or something else in that way.

What's a developer?
I don't do ebuilds or or code, so when your Gentoo is broken, it wasn't me :)

If you find a project to join that does not need you to have commit access to the Gentoo ebuild repository, you can still be a Gentoo developer.
There is a lot more to Gentoo than the code.

Well I'm not sure what are you thinking about, but I think it would be hard for me to became even a bash expert and even harder to be an expert for c programming, or maybe even freepascal or assembler. Although I'm not sure up to where I can go with my bash or ksh skills.

Basically I do all with bash basics and some more advanced commands (I handle all what I need), although I do have pretty fine understandings in all-around-computers and technology.

I may help something for sure, but as the main thing I'm a Gentoo user.

If you are thinking about me to became a member to gentoo.org... yes for sure, I may become and I may help with something.
But if you are thinking about me to became a Gentoo developer as a for ex. C programmer or something like that.... that's hard for me.

if you can answer those questions with confidence, you can become a developer without commit access to gentoo repository, ie you dont need to have "coding" skills.

But before actually filling the quizzes you need to find a place you want to contribute to, and start working with projects who'll mentor you to become a dev. I'm just pointing out you don't need to be a "programmer" to become a dev, but there's still more to it.

Gentoo is portage, the application written in python, the portage repository, written in bash and the documentation.
Almost everything else is upstream. Its essentially a toolkit you use do design and install your own distro.
There is no comparison with binary distros.

All gentoo devs are volunteers. They all put real life before Gentoo.

To get started, help out in areas that interest you. If its not fun, you won't do it and Gentoo won't pay you.
None of the volunteers will invest their free time in the recruitment process until its clear you are here to stay for a while.
Nobody is in a hurry either, its a fun hobby.

Ok. Just consider that I am more of a "multimedia" type of computer (and gentoo) user. Speaking about terminal, I'm doing bash basics and some more advanced commands which does all I need, I also like ksh as my second choice which is a shell that I would use more rarely. I have fine understandings in hardware, filesystems and in usage of various applications. Other thing is that I'm not sure up to where my bash, ksh and generally linux skills would go.

Speaking about gentoo, I pretty much like it.

You are not supposed to do the quizzes in isolation. You need a mentor to point you in the right direction.
Mentors usually come from a project you want to join and only after you have contributed to that project for a while.
