In firefox ESR (60.x.x) bug/security fixes are guaranteed.
You can miss some new feature (see changelogs to see what)

EDIT: I'm not sure what you means with beetween firefox 6.0.x and 6.x series

My bad! Indeed, typo as it should have been:
Code:
6.0.x and 6x.0
So for example what are the differences beetween firefox 60.5 and 65.0?

Thks 4 ur attention, interest & support.

Tried 65.0 yesterday. Took the precaution of quickpkg firefox 59 first.
Totally ugly and confusing UI. None of my add-ons were available. No old Firefox theme.
Restored 59, blocked all Quantum builds. I mostly use Palemoon but some sites make me waste 5 minutes or more on Captcha's. I fire up Firefox for those sites.

EDIT: Correction. S/B 52.9 not 59

60.x, the current ESR, mozilla is trying to maintain base features and only do bugfixes.

6x.x they're trying to add new features which may not be backwards compatible. Bug fixes are also added of course but new bugs may be added.

The old ESR, 52.x, stopped being supported and no longer gets security updates.

eccerr0r and Tony are both correct. One other point to note is that Firefox ESR 52.9 is the newest Firefox release that supports pre-Quantum addons. Firefox 60.x ESR and Firefox 6x.0 non-ESR both fail to load pre-Quantum addons because upstream removed the code to handle them. As eccerr0r says, Firefox ESR 52.9 is abandoned upstream and has known security problems. It's also the only way to use Firefox with addons which have not been, and in some cases cannot be, rewritten as a WebExtension, so a substantial number of people continue to use it anyway.

Thank you for the clarification, Hu. The sites that I have trouble with Palemoon are big commercial sites so perhaps I am safe with FF 52.9 on those limited sites. My mortgage company, when trying to log on with Palemoon or Seamonkey puts up a string that they support ONLY Firefox, Chrome, Safari and IE, latest version of each. I did put a custom useragent in about:config for them, Identifying Palemoon as FF 52.9. It let me in without a peep.
No trouble navigating either. Why do corporate IT's limit access to only Browser's whose features they don't use anyhow? The big companies with vast IT resources seem to be the worst in this respect. Some years ago, the US government would allow ONLY IE the version from Win 8, not even FF or the Win 7 IE. I had to go to my local library to access my personnel file.
