I ran the carpaski GCC 3.2 update scripts, and for the most part, things went beautifully. But it seems to have messed up my /dev directory. No real devices are there. Instead, every device has '-' after it's name. This (obviously) makes them useless. Will rebooting fix this? (I am running devfs) _________________ Gentoo:

Probably... you might also try `mount -o remount /dev` or `killall -HUP devfsd`. _________________ I don't believe in witty sigs. |

Hurray! The -HUP fixed it. Thanks a million. It's /scary/ to lose that dir. But then, I came up from non-devfs systems, where if you lost /dev, you might as well reinstall. _________________ Gentoo:
