|
|
I'm basically just re-asking the question in:
https://github.com/sargon/trayer-srg/issues/40
in short, trayer-srg used to work correctly, but after updating some packages a long time ago the transparent part stopped repainting.
I finally get a bit annoyed at this problem and wanna look into the problem but don't know where should I start for troubleshotting.
For now I can't recall any other X11 applications that have this behavior. |

Did you try with x11-misc/trayer? _________________ "Confirm You are a robot." - the singularity |

How can you tell that a transparent area is not repainting? If it is transparent, you are supposed to see through it, and the obvious way to achieve that is to avoid painting that area. |

I just tried that, same result.

What I meant would be more clear if you take a look at my link: the trayer is supposed to have a grey background on top of transparent parts of trayer icons. But whenever I drag a window over it, or go back from fullscreen mode,
the transparent part of the icon is not repainted back to grey, instead, whatever is drawn there stays. |

If you add something like "--alpha 205", is it better? _________________ "Confirm You are a robot." - the singularity |

weird, the problem seems to resolve itself after I updated a bunch of packages yesterday.
getting from genlop -l, anything of interest here? (so next time it happens I at least know where to begin investigation):
