In case anyone knows how to get this working, after the upgrade to perl 5.26
logitech media server no longer starts

FWIW, here is the startup error:

Quote:
$ ./slimserver.pl
The following CPAN modules were found but cannot work with Logitech Media Server:
Image::Scale (loaded 0.11, need 0.08 )
XML::Parser:
Parser.pm and Expat.pm versions don't match at /home/wesqu/docs/logitechmediaserver-7.9.2-1547616941/CPAN/XML/Parser.pm line 20.
BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at /home/wesqu/docs/logitechmediaserver-7.9.2-1547616941/CPAN/XML/Parser.pm line 22.
Compilation failed in require at (eval 135) line 1.
BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at (eval 135) line 1.

I also wonder how to safely DOWNGRADE a perl installation ... ?

The script says it needs an outdated version, but does it? This may just be a badly written version check that only allows versions that the author enumerated. If you change the the version check to allow the newer version, does the script work?

I found that I had neglected to build perl with +ithreads :oops:

once I did that, the newest LMS 7.9.2 runs fine (7.9.1 still fails
but that does not matter)
