Indeed. I never said it was the first time he started the slow backtrack. I said that a few pages ago in this thread and certainly he has done it before. Of course he is going to back off from an idiotic promise. He can't deliver. She clearly should have known that from the get go, but possibly he didn't because that's just one of many things he has shown poor judgement on.

Quote:
It's not some new phenomena. And your rabid anti-Trump hatred is interesting compared to the loving treatment you gave Obama. By the way, did you read Art of the Deal as well as Obama's book?

I have no obligation to like Trump as much as I liked Obama. I certainly did like the other guy more (but really, that's a low bar). But I wasn't a fan of his presidency at all. I thought the peace prize was ridiculous, I thought his wars were terrible, he continued to spend gobs and gobs on the military and I also thought his economic recovery was on the backs of Fed inflationary policies. I was always open about that.

But I have no obligation to read Trump's book just because I read Obama's. I thought Obama's book was mildly entertaining. It didn't say much, but was reasonably entertaining because it was written by a president who can write. I could have gone through life happily without reading it, but it was fine. it wasn't ground breaking.

By contrast, I have absolutely no interest in reading Trump's book, even though I do find business (especially finance) interesting. you have heard him speak. He is vapid, dull, vacuous and rambling. I have no reason to believe he has anything interesting to say about finance or business, even if he could somehow force it out in a somewhat coherent way.

I am surprised you'd use that as an argument to justify Trump's reckless spending.

What I think of him is religious? Post me a video where he said something insightful. Or something he has written. An essay? Op-ed piece? Anything that would make you think, hmmm, interesting.

if you want, I can do so with Obama. My guess is that you won't agree with what he is saying, but he will demonstrate that he knows his details and has thought about the topic for a bit.

I meant your leftism is religious.

Socialism has (rightly) been called a fanatical cult of the state.

I am neither a leftist or a socialist. but why the name calling? What I asked for can't be that much of a challenge, can it? Surely, someone with a book worth reading would have some clip of him somewhere saying something interesting. ONE CLIP. I of course don't have to agree with what he is saying, it just has to be interesting. Saying whatever. Talking about an interesting study or article he read. Anything. I'll keep the bar low.

It's not name calling. You side nearly 100% of the time with democrat party talking points. You believe the liberal media. You trust them. The only reason why anyone would do this is if they believed the same basic lies.

Given that I pointedly asked you a question and you respond this way instead of answering the question, it is.

Quote:

That's just false.

Quote:
You believe the liberal media.

I don't know what this statement means. We all read our media. I check other sources all the time.

Quote:
You trust them.

That depends on what you mean. I trust the NYT far more than I trust Breitbart or Fox, but that doesn't mean I don't think the NYT is wrong often. I'd be happy to defend why the former is far more reliable.

Quote:

it's funny, because I have been accused of the opposite as well (trusting right wing sources).

Anyway, instead of taking this tack, why not just answer the question? The man is the president. He's quite possibly the most filmed and recorded person on the planet right now. I have given you what ought to be a rather easy challenge. Also, I have noticed that you haven't taken me up on my offer of displaying a similar clip of obama, because I assume you know that IS a rather easy task.

False.

I posted a link to a book and you flat out said that it was written by a Christian who was a republican.

Your refusal to look at anything outside of your bubble is obvious.

Apparently, democrat is OK republican is bad.

You did read the title to the book right? it doesn't sound like an even handed evidence searching study on voter fraud. I admit, I was judging a book by its author, but that's certainly far from refusing to read it. So, let's look at it then. Where in the book does he give this evidence? You'll forgive me for not wanting to read the whole thing. Perhaps you can point me to the right chapter.

Does knowledge frighten you? Just read it.

No it doesn't. But time is precious. Does telling me what the relevant chapter is cost money? After all, you are the one presenting evidence to me.

And surely you must understand my initial dismissal of the book. My guess is your book shelf isn't filled with Al Franken-like titles about how all republicans are all liars all the time in every universe. That how that book title reads. The title sounds like it's written by a rabid partisan.

it's certainly not obvious from the chapter titles that any such study or evidence is contained in that book.

So a no on giving the me the chapter? OK. What a peculiar way to argue. My confidence that the hard numbers pertinent to this discussion are in that book is dropping rather quickly. It seems that my quick judgement of the book was justified.

The book lays out from the first chapter to the last, the history of democrat party election fraud. Read it.

If I pretended and lied to you that it was written by a 1/2 black socialist moron, would you then read it?

I guess that's a no then.

a half black socialist moron would have a better title for his book, if he meant for it to be read outside of his echo chamber.

So, is it your contention that the title of the book was meant to attract readers who may disagree with his point of view? My comment wasn't to attack him as a writer or a thinker, as I don't know him. It was an attack on the book title, and who the book is meant for. It doesn't sound like it's meant to convince people on the other side of the anything.

but it's really hard to get any information about this book, like what chapter contains the evidence of rampant voter fraud. So difficult. If only someone here knew the location of this information and was willing to give it up.

Wow! That was entertaining!

A: HA! You are biased!
B: I am not.
A: I have evidence, it is hidden somewhere in this book
B: I don't trust the author, I won't read the book!
A: HA! You are biased!
B: *sigh* alright... Where is this evidence in the book?
A: I won't tell you. Read it all! Lalalala!
B: I don't have the time for that, please give me a hint where to look.
A: No! You read something I don't like, so you have to read it all now.
B: That's irrelevant, please, just tell me at least which chapter to look at.
A: No!
B: Then not. I won't read the whole book.
A: HA! You are biased!

Hilarious!

You need to work on your reading comprehension in English.
