I am unable to use my external monitor when I am using Bumblebee. (Or atleast till someone is able to help me with this).
Relevant forum post - https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-1090940-highlight-.html I decided to create another forum post, because the 2 topics are slightly different.
TLDR of the forum post -
I am unable to use my external monitor when I am using Bumblebee.
I was able to use my external monitor when I setup my laptop for optimus and was always using the Nvidia driver.
I am no longer able to set up optimus for my laptop after having the bumblebee configuration always present. Following the optimus wiki page and then removing bumblebee from open-rc only allows me to boot into TTY. (HELP!)
So to try and resolve these issues, I need help with-
1. Allow me to use optimus without removing everything that I did to set up Bumblebee. (Or allow me to always use the Nvidia GPU without removing everything that I did to set up Bumblebee)
These are some attached files if they help to debug -
/etc/init.d/bumblebee - https://paste.pound-python.org/show/HEHkfgXYVXaDpQ0OkOST/
/etc/bumblebee/bumblebee.conf - https://paste.pound-python.org/show/CbXd2iwmlheT4oiVU9Db/
/etc/conf.d/modules - https://paste.pound-python.org/show/QkgoODa2cHKGmb6ynrPt/
/etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/10-nvidia.backup(Named backup because if I enable it I will not be able to boot in the current state) - https://paste.pound-python.org/show/qk3e5wysN113zmSYQzpc/ (When I solely had the optimus setup, this was the nvidia.conf file that worked)
There is a lot of relevant information in the linked forum post.
2. Write a script to help me switch between Bumblebee and Optimus. This would let me switch over to Optimus when I am using an external monitor. This would probably entail changing a few lines in a few configuration files and renaming configuration files to not allow them to load on reboot. (I can probably do this myself once the first point is solved). _________________ [19:18] <@NeddySeagoon> Gentoo has an installer. Just like other distros. Go to the bathroom, look in the mirror.
