kodi now segfaults when I launch it
Code:
kodi-x11[7041]: segfault at 0 ip 00007f9bde5a02b6 sp 00007ffe9ec498a8 error 4 in libc-2.28.so[7f9bde521000+15c000]
[   91.378785] Code: 0f 1f 40 00 66 0f ef c0 66 0f ef c9 66 0f ef d2 66 0f ef db 48 89 f8 48 89 f9 48 81 e1 ff 0f 00 00 48 81 f9 cf 0f 00 00 77 6a <f3> 0f 6f 20 66 0f 74 e0 66 0f d7 d4 85 d2 74 04 0f bc c2 c3 48 83

Haven't looked into it too much yet but it started right after upgrading to glibc-2.28-r4 . I recompiled kodi and no change.

Please rebuild kodi and glibc with debug symbols, then use gdb to obtain a backtrace of the crash.

Got around to rebuilding it with debug enabled and of course it works now... I'll try removing debug later and see if it goes back to crashing.

LogGraphicsInfo called an unknown libc function in a way that caused that function to crash. Identifying the called function could be very helpful. Debug information from glibc would show this. We could also try to infer it if we had line number information from the caller.

No luck. Recompiled without debug, back to crashing, recompiled again with debug, no crash.

That is a nasty bug. Toggling debug symbols for the program should have no effect on bug reproducibility. What debug settings did you use that cause it to start/stop failing?

You could try instrumenting LogGraphicsInfo and manually tracing how far it gets before it calls a glibc function that dies.
