|
I recently emerged gnome-boxes and it spit an error at my face, turns out the problem was me not being in the kvm group.
after I added myself to the correct group id changed the error, now boxes DOES start the virtual machine but the window never opens, you can only see that it did work in the little icon inside gnome-boxes.
the error it gives is as follows Code: | (gnome-boxes:15603): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: /var/tmp/portage/dev-libs/glib-2.52.3/work/glib-2.52.3/gobject/gsignal.c:2641: instance '0x5649dc1ebaa0' has no handler with id '7726'
Boxes-Message: machine.vala:209: display Win disconnected
**************************************
(gnome-boxes:15603): GSpice-WARNING **: (spice-widget.c:2501):update_mouse_mode: code should not be reached

anyone can help?
I did compile spice without smartcard support, does it matter?
if so how do I recompile it?
Thanks. |

Same error here, compiled spice with default use flags as pulled by gnome-boxes (inclusing smartcard).
Edit: solved, see https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=673186
Enable gnome-overlay:
Code: | sudo eselect repository enable gnome |
Update gnome-boxes to 3.26.4:
Code: | sudo emerge --ask --oneshot =gnome-extra/gnome-boxes-3.26.4 |
