Hi all!

Recently I expanded my 2x SSD RAID0 to 4x SSD RAID5 (all drives are 480GB, but slightly different). SSDs are
2x ADATA SP550 (older drives that were RAID0)
2x ADATA SU650 (new drives)

Mainboard is Asus P9D-M with Xeon E3-1246v3 and 32GB RAM. SSDs are connected to SATA III ports.
What I found to my astonishement that fourth drive works slower on my Gentoo kernel:

Code:
/dev/sda:
 Timing cached reads:   31150 MB in  1.99 seconds = 15631.27 MB/sec
 Timing buffered disk reads: 1274 MB in  3.00 seconds = 424.55 MB/sec

/dev/sdb:
 Timing cached reads:   30342 MB in  1.99 seconds = 15224.31 MB/sec
 Timing buffered disk reads: 1352 MB in  3.00 seconds = 450.51 MB/sec

/dev/sdc:
 Timing cached reads:   31032 MB in  1.99 seconds = 15571.01 MB/sec
 Timing buffered disk reads: 1266 MB in  3.00 seconds = 421.73 MB/sec

/dev/sdd:
 Timing cached reads:   30870 MB in  1.99 seconds = 15490.26 MB/sec
 Timing buffered disk reads: 872 MB in  3.01 seconds = 289.74 MB/sec

Funny thing is when I boot Archlinux install ISO, all SSD speeds are back to normal (like 430-480 MB/s including the 4th drive).
How can I troubleshoot this further? Smartctl and dmesg seems normal, there's something going on in my kernel.

Code:
smartctl -a /dev/sdd
smartctl 6.6 2017-11-05 r4594 [x86_64-linux-4.18.13-gentoo] (local build)

I gave up and returned that drive.
The replacement has another (third) version of firmware and probably another controller:

Code:
smartctl -a /dev/sdd
smartctl 6.6 2017-11-05 r4594 [x86_64-linux-4.18.14-gentoo] (local build)
Copyright (C) 2002-17, Bruce Allen, Christian Franke, www.smartmontools.org

Right now it is the fastest

Code:
for drive in /dev/sd{a..d}; do hdparm -tT $drive; done
/dev/sda:
 Timing cached reads:   30914 MB in  1.99 seconds = 15511.85 MB/sec
 Timing buffered disk reads: 1310 MB in  3.00 seconds = 436.49 MB/sec
/dev/sdb:
 Timing cached reads:   30866 MB in  1.99 seconds = 15488.34 MB/sec
 Timing buffered disk reads: 1386 MB in  3.00 seconds = 461.93 MB/sec
/dev/sdc:
 Timing cached reads:   30316 MB in  1.99 seconds = 15210.16 MB/sec
 Timing buffered disk reads: 1274 MB in  3.00 seconds = 424.02 MB/sec
/dev/sdd:
 Timing cached reads:   30312 MB in  1.99 seconds = 15209.42 MB/sec
 Timing buffered disk reads: 1536 MB in  3.00 seconds = 511.69 MB/sec
