This will allow an easy method of contacting all moderators at one time.
  • Users:
    • If you spot what you believe to be a duplicate post, please post a link to it here. In addition, include a link to what is being duplicated.
    • If you find a post you think belongs in a different forum, let us know.
    • Avoid multiple reports of spam:
      • If a user's posts are all spam, report the user, not the posts.
      • Review this thread after submitting a report. Please delete your report if someone beat you to the punch.
    • Any other post that you think requires moderation (violations of Guidelines, broken BBcode, etc.).

  • Moderators:
    • Please delete posts after you've addressed them.
Thanks in advance.

Reason: I thought that was a genuine user, but now I think we have a really well disguised advertising profile here.
Also, the skill level presented on the forums seems to be kinda low compared to the one required for the linked website.

Reason: if i was myself having issue with sound, i would make a post asking to get a solve rather than querying someone else if he manage to have his sound working (as my sound issue won't get fix by his answer)
and with zillions threads about sound issues we have, i would had choose an active one rather than a 2016 post
number of post #1

Mods ... their "website", and domain, is also ficticious.

Might I be so bold as to suggest running dig against a domain name before describing a site as fictitious? Specifically dig any $domain.
I attempted to connect to the 'website', and did an 'nslookup -sil $domain', both returned negatives.

Indeed. But they appear to have posted a helpful reply, but I don't know the details of python well enough to know whether it is a good idea to do that. Still thinking... -- Akkara

I would myself say that the details coming from both python paths shown are good clues the answer is coming from a user that do use gentoo at least.
Just to point out that, as it makes it legitimate for me. (but random binary distro might also use two python interpreter and i'm not aware of that ; but i think that must be somehow gentoo and its derivative specific)

Reason: Trivialising rape and blaming the victim in the same post.

Even ignoring the agricultural usage, the word "rape" has more than one meaning. Indeed the sense in which you are attempting to imply it was used in is derived from the broader sense in which it was used: forcible taking of something which is not recognized by the party from which it was taken as being lawfully claimable by the party did the taking. Another sense in which the term is used is "an outrageous violation" of sovereignty whether of person, property, place, or other form of dominion. It is also, again by definition, used to describe the act of robbery or despoiling. All of those sense apply in the context in which that comment was made. It is a word, correctly used, and by no sane theory blaming any actual victim of sexual assault or trivializing it in any form. -- desultory

desultory wrote:

No, not at all, since we are talking about a process between two sovereign entities that for success requires the consent of both of them - and if that fails, both are worse off. It much more resembles extrajudicial divorce proceedings. Your exercise in conceptual history of the term does not really help, you know very well this is inflamatory plain and simple. I was of course semi-serious with my report, but I definitely think it is unbecoming of a moderator.

asturm,

What is the correct English word to describe the process where a group of 28 states agree to disadvantage one of their number wishing to leave the group?

-- Neddyseagoon

You know perfectly well it's not that simple. Leaving the club was always going to be to your disadvantage. The dishonesty and misinformation that led to said decision, and moving of goalposts after that decision, is entirely a matter of the party that did not read the Terms & Conditions. Blaming the club then is simply denying responsibility. You cancel your fitness centre subscription and only later discover you lose access to the sauna, but still insist on getting in there without paying at least the minimum membership. You are being denied. The club won't change their Terms & Conditions just because you and your wife can't reach a conclusion. You can call that rape, but everyone around you will shake their head.

asturm,

Lets agree to disagree on my use of the English language and save other discussions for the topic.

-- Neddyseagoon

You call it language, I call it vitriol.

And I call your calling him calling it what he called vitriol hyperbole. -- desultory

I'm sitting comfortable after he made his WW3 comment.

Post: post 8367810
Reason: suspect spam

[Moderator response: The post could do with better capitalization and grammar, but it is an on-topic criticism of the solution proposed above. An earlier, non-reported, post advocated sftp. The reported post notes that Dropbear, an alternate sshd implementation, does not support sftp. This is a good reason not to use Dropbear on systems that can afford the full sshd, so the post seems on-topic to me. It could still become spam, so it bears watching, but if it is a spam precursor, it's at least a better one than most. -Hu]

Because unless someone isn't in lockstep agreeing with an obnoxious, autistic, millionaire Swedish teenager who just skips school to sail across the ocean to read a prepared script to the media at the UN... we must be Russian.

There are real problems faced by children all over the world. Child soldiers in Africa, kidnapped, forced into addiction to murder... but for some reason we must all pay attention to a first world kid crying over the bogeyman her parents, the media, politicians, and the media have fed into her head.

No. I will not. And I am not Russian.

Also, STOP REPORTING POSTS AND THREADS WHICH ARE NOT SPAM. You perpetually abuse the function. Report spammers... not members you disagree with.

it was just the format of your post which led me to think that your account is abused by a bot. let't move the discussion back to the normal thread then...

Stop reporting posts which are not spam. You are abusing the purpose of the report button. It's not a toy, as the staff has to actually pay attention to everything you report. They are not paid, so you are literally just wasting their time.

Muso you are completely right and i know i could get a kick/ban for this. PJP told me also the same. I had a few beers yesterday and your post was a bit out of your normal format which led me to click 'report' again in a wrong situation.

For my defense i just say i try to balance my misdoings with reporting real spam. Hopefully i will get a better ration in wrong reports/all reports soon.
