Hi all,

So basically as the title says it, after I finished my install and configured grub I rebooted and I can see that now I don't have my wlp3s0 but rather I have a sit0@NONE which I can't really set up with ip link command. It is the first time I am trying gentoo and tbh haven't had an issue like that before. Web search on the issue doesn't give me a lot of info besides the fact that sit0@NONE is some kind of a virtual interface.

Long story short what I am asking is: Is there a workaround so I can get back my interface and set it up or did I fck up completely somewhere down the installation route and am better off starting again?

If I can provide more info for more constructive feedback please let me know.

Many thanks,

Me

gurmimzeleni ...

sit0 is not your wireless interface, that is missing as you've either not enabled the driver in the kernel, or you're missing firmware for that driver. So, you need to enable the driver, and rebuild the kernel and/or modules, and/or possibly install sys-kernel/linux-firmware. Otherwise provide details about the card/chipset, not much can be said without knowing the hardware involved.

best ... khay

Hi,

I double checked the install guide now and it turns out that I didn't enable the driver in the kernel.. Thank you for pointing me in the right direction. Marking this as solved.
