I didn't say it wouldn't survive. Read PBUH's comments in my original links.

Indians dig it. The only guy I know who owns one is named Srinivas. And there's a fuck-load of Indians. I bet the Chinese like it too. They like whatever they think is a status symbol in the West. It's funny; they have a major boner for Buicks.

Nothing wrong with Asians liking them and having their preferences addressed. But, "set to work on a model which retains the DNA. A Cotswold edition, if you will."

I don't think Asians should have these. Think about how much trouble notageek would've been in had he crashed into that sacred cow with one of these instead of his rice-moped! They'd have strung him up by his left nut!

If that were true, they'd have planned to rebuild the Defender. The meeting would have gone something like this:

We can rebuild it. We have the technology. We have the capability to make the world's best off-road vehicle. The new Defender will be that vehicle. Better than it was before. Better... stronger... faster.

Nobody cares about the Defender. It was a peice of shit. The decision shut it was a profitable decision.
But if the ownership were decent they could have made a profit.

Britain hasn't got any money to spend on Defender, remember we had to close it down?

America? They're busy shooting unarmed negroes off the street.

You don't need to have any money, they virtually sell themselves if properly marketed

So, a company in a former Great British colony owns two former great British brands? Which it then proceeded to treat more or less like any other more mundane British brand that it might have acquired.

You are getting your stereotypes all wrong again, America is supposedly so full of guns that people can barely go for a walk without stuffing a few in their pockets just to get out the door, just ask Cokey.

I Can't Believe The Range Rover Evoque Convertible Costs $70,000

And as a special sort-of-but-not-really related bonus, you may want to check out how Volvo is doing.

The turbocharged, supercharged and plug-in hybrid $106k Volvo. By Sweden.

I'm pretty disgusted by the new Range Rovers. They used to be distinctive insofar as they were like a cross between a Land Rover's all-terrain ruggedness and a Bentley.

It was different from an SUV in that you could actually drive it up the side of a mountain or volcano and if you got stuck you'd just put the low range gearbox on with a little Pink Floyd and molten rock magma at 30,000 feet in the Himalayas was a breeze.

Now they are gaudy. Like Snoop Diddy P has bling'd up a Chevy and is desperately going for the "soccer moms/school runs" who can spend the extra 30 grand

At least the DB11 is a proper British car: beautiful, luxurious, fast, slightly mental and breaks down every few kilometres

Not even the Chinese want to buy a Chinese Volvo.

With the right money, there's two things I'd do. Produce that which were in all but name, real Thinkpads and Range Rovers (well, better quality ).
