Hi all,

Newbie question here. When doing a world upgrade I'm getting the following:

Code:

...snip...
[blocks B      ] <app-shells/gentoo-zsh-completions-20180228 ("<app-shells/gentoo-zsh-completions-20180228" is blocking sys-apps/openrc-0.38.2)
...snip...

Should I manually add a keyword, or should the new gentoo-zsh-completions-20180228 be changed to stable?

resill ... it looks like someone forgot about that dep:

Code:
% grep zsh-completion *.ebuild
openrc-0.35.5.ebuild:   !<app-shells/gentoo-zsh-completions-20180228
openrc-0.36.ebuild:   !<app-shells/gentoo-zsh-completions-20180228
openrc-0.37.ebuild:   !<app-shells/gentoo-zsh-completions-20180228
openrc-0.38.2.ebuild:   !<app-shells/gentoo-zsh-completions-20180228
openrc-9999.ebuild:   !<app-shells/gentoo-zsh-completions-20180228

... so, yes manually keyword, but I'm still seeing >0.34.11 as keyworded ~arch.

best ... khay

Thanks for confirming. Should I submit an issue somewhere, btw?

resill ... you mean and have everyone using <0.38.2 get gentoo-zsh-completions-20180228 regardless of this breaking completion? Sure, that's probably what will happen anyhow.

Haha, you're right. Doesn't really make sense so soon, thanks. :)

resill ... actually, I'm not right, the package does need keywording to reflect the openrc dependency (which of course may, or may not, break working installs). The problem here is that the dependency obviously refects changes in gentoo-zsh-completions-20180228, and these are probably not backward compatible ... otherwise why the nearly four year gap (we can assume that keyword exists for a reason). So, I suggest that if you do decide to report it then please do so in Swahili :)
